COMSOL + Python

Dear COMSOL developers,

I'm also one of the people desperately waiting for a Python interface... could anyone from the COMSOL team please explain why there is nothing planned (despite many people asking for it)? I think it's really shortsighted to ignore that topic completely, since Python is taking an increasingly important role (especially in science where I'm working).

Hello Johannes,

Please note that while COMSOL employees occasionally visit and post in the Discussion Forum (including me, one of the moderators), to contact COMSOL's support and/or to provide product feedback and ideas to COMSOL we invite you to use the COMSOL support portal.

Regarding your question: we are aware of requests for a Python API, but for contractual reasons, the details of which I am not at liberty to elaborate on, it is not currently possible for us to provide such an interface. COMSOL does offer the optional LiveLink for MATLAB, as well as a Java API that is part of the core COMSOL Multiphysics product.

Best regards,

Jeff
