coupling transport with mixture interface

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

Can anyone please direct me as to why my coupling between transport of concentrated species and mixture interface is not working? I have concentrated species with density of 1100 kg/m3 and certain mass fraction entering a horizontal pipe where they undergo chemical conversion. At the same time I want to visualize that if this species were in a pipe filled with water, where would they settle as they get converted. So, I coupled the species density with the density of dispersed particles of the mixture interface. The mass fraction of transport of concentrated species is coupled with the volume fraction input boundary condition of the mixture interface. I have converted the mass fraction to volume fraction in the equation editor to have the same units.

My model converges, but when I see the results of dispersed volume fraction, I see it stays near zero and goes negative. I had to clear the solution to upload the file.

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Romani
