PDE Interface

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello, all.

I am fairly new to COMSOL and am trying to get a better understanding of the PDE interface. I have attached a 2D axisymmetric model to simulate fluid flow within a damper. The model employs a moving mesh and uses two different physics interfaces to model the fluid. The first is the built-in laminar flow interface, assuming incompressibility. The second (currently disabled) is a rendering of the Navier-Stokes equations using the general form PDE interface. I had thought these two physics descriptions to be roughly equivalent, but when I try to run the second, I get the error "Failed to find consistent initial conditions."
I understand this is a fairly common error, but I would appreciate any advice as to what is wrong with the PDE description, the solver configuration, or the model in general.

Thanks,
David
