ELECTRMONAGNETIC MODEL COUPLED WITH MECHANICAL MODEL

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am new in Comsol Multiphysics and I'm trying to validate a 2d Electromag model coupled with a mechanical model.
The problem is very simple: a square ceramic material (x,y coordinates) with a source of sinusoidal magnetic field perpendicular to it (in y direction)
This material has superconductor properties, that means there will be a stress in x and y directions when is applied a source of magnetic field.
This material is orthotropic. In y direction has different mechanical properties than x and z.
So, The z dimension has similar dimensions than x and z.... could I try to use a plane strain model? and if the z dimensions is very large compared to x and y?

Using a plane stress i'm suposed that in z direction there is no stress.. and that is not true.

I'm looking for a solution in 2d.. because I can not model yet in 3d the electromagnetic case.
