Modelling a permanent magnet

Hi,
I am a beginner trying to use comsol. How am I supposed to model several magnets with alternating poles (North and South). Four magnets in a circular array. And then to find the magnetic force acting on an iron shaft that passes through (a linear motion) these four magnets.

Hi Delika,

For modeling a rotation, you might want to use the "Rotating Machinery, Magnetic" interface in AC/DC Module similar to the generator example below:

In 3D, similar to the tutorial example:
www.comsol.com/model/rotating-machinery-3d-tutorial-10437
For radial or azimuthal magnetization and also for calculation of force/torque, the magnetic gear examples might be useful.
