is it possible to create a 3D volume data set for export?

I have a large domain (45"x3"x16"), and I only want to export data from my domain of interest (2x2x2). is there a way to create a volume data set? or do i need to create a sub-domain when creating the geometry for the model? the entire model geometry is currently one domain. thanks!

Hi

right click on the Data Set, or use a Domain selection filter. that should make a data set of reduced size. Bu I do not know how to access it in matlab from there (havent lerned the new V4 features yet ;)

Also you shoudl "box" your 2x2x2 domain with interiour boundaries, it makes life easier to handle the Elements thereafter, also for postprocessing, flux integration ...

Good luck
