material library reference

Hi
In one of my simulation, i used properties of aluminum from comsol material library. Now, my journal paper is accepted , but one of the reviewer is asking that instead of using comsol material library as a refernce, i should use the properties from published journals.
I am wandering, what is the "source/reference" of comsol material library?
If comsol collect the properties from journal papers or books, how could i find those refernces?

Hi

Engineering material properties varies a lot depending on grades, heat treatment, composition etc, while most chemical component data comes from more "stable" sources. In the material database you have different references, and there is the default ones in the doc so you should be able t find the "source".
Which does not mean that one should not systematically check all data values (and particularly the temperature and pressure ranges when applicable, how often do one see simulations referring to material data outside their range of validity !
And pls do not hesitate to report back to COMSOL any discrepancies identified, as we all rely on these databases, but we cannot, each of us, users, check every material. So we need a "corporate user support" to help us all here (and I'm a user like you, so I rely also on support from other users to improve my preferred tool ;)
