Diffusion though cellular membrane

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I would like to use comsol to solve the following problem:
I would like to introduce some molecular beacons (small spheres for simulation´s sake) inside a cell. The idea is to open a certain number of pores un the cell membrane (30 nm in diam) for 10 minutes, the cell will be placed in a solution of these molecular beacons (concentration known).
What I´m interested in is to calculate how many bacons will enter the cell in this 10 min interval by simple diffusion.
Is there an efficient way that you can suggest in order to solve this problem?

Thank you very much in advance.
