Import non closed surface from an STL mesh

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

Currently I am trying to import some STL mesh where some entities are made of non closed surfaces, e.g. a square not a box with other closed parts. When doing so following the examples shown in www.comsol.com/model/stl-import-tutorial-series-30951 for closed shapes, Comsol complains that the mesh is not watertight. My goal is to implement some TBC on these surfaces and use them in low RF magnetic field in the frequency domain. Attached is a png file corresponding to the basis of a tower from an STL that I have generated in Gmsh and want to import in Comsol. It should be used in Comsol in order to compute some eddy currents influence on the field around and inside the tower. Is there a way to import these non closed meshed surfaces from an STL file or other formats ? Thanks for any help.
