Convergence at high Velocity

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am trying to develop a model of nozzle flow into a cavity. I have a model that I am able to run at low velocities (0.1 m/s), but have not been able to get a higher velocity (~50 m/s) version to converge. I've attached an image of the result I get from the 0.1 m/s model. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Trevor

Trevor:

You will have to provide a few more details if you need help. What is the size of your domain? If you evaluate the inlet Reynolds number and increase it (Re) gradually, at which value does the model actually fail? Are you increasing your mesh density as you increase the flow velocity? Are you probably transition from Laminar to Turbulent flow and need to resolve the domain more?

Sri.
