initial stress-strain for hyper edalstic materials

Hi,

I am simulating an artery. The artery is pre-stressed (or pre-stretched) and I want to specify the initial stresses in physics/subdomain/initial stress strain. Also I am using a hyper-elastic model which is appropriate for large deformations.
Before I specify I run the program for the above set up, I used an isotropic material like steel. The pre-stress was correctly applied and I got reasonable results. But when I changed the material to hyper-elastic, during solving, the solver apparently ignored the initial values.
My question is that why the initial values for stress or strain are accepted for isotropic material but not in hyper material?

Thank,Man
