please i need your help because im doing MSc project (An investigation using comsol 3.5 Multi Physics Analysis into weld penetration in cracked component repairs)
first of all i want to ask which space dimension i should choose (2D or 3D).
secondally which comsol multiphysics in application modes i shoul choose ( heat transfer or electro-thermal interaction)
because my analysis about the stresses or residual stresses during and after welding.
i draw plate ( 100mm length, 50mm width and 5mm thickness) on the plan view i draw cracked place which cleaned by pensle grinding to be ready for welidng ( the width 3mm, 4mm length and 3mm depth) this size which im going to apply heat flux on it, to get my result.
