Gaussian beam RF module

Hi,
I'm a newbie to COMSOL and to this forum.
I have a few basic questions but unfortunately the manual didn't help.

I was experimenting with the 2D gaussian beam model provided with the RF module. It uses a PMC to one boundary and a PEC to the opposite of a rectangular domain. As I understand it is to handle symmetry and reduce the domain size. Is it possible to ignore the symmetry condition and simulate a full 2D gaussian beam.

I tried with 2PECs instead of PEC and PMC and extended the region. But didn't help. May be I haven't understood how to use PMC. Could somebody give me some advice.

Thanks
