Photos from the COMSOL Conference 2015 Grenoble

October 29, 2015

The COMSOL Conference recently made its second stop in Grenoble, France. The three-day event brought together more than 300 engineers, researchers, and scientists, giving attendees the opportunity to advance their simulation skills and network with other users and COMSOL staff. We would like to thank everyone who came to the conference, as it was a great success. Here’s a look at some of the photos from the event.

A Look Back at the COMSOL Conference 2015 Grenoble

The COMSOL Conference 2015 Grenoble began with an introductory session for all conference attendees. The presentation provided an overview of what to expect in the upcoming COMSOL Multiphysics version 5.2 release, highlighting some of the new features and functionality that will be included.

The minicourse sessions began shortly after, led by COMSOL staff as well as one of the event sponsors, Simpleware Ltd. In addition to lecture-based courses, hands-on training sessions were available in a variety of topic areas, such as heat transfer, electromagnetics, and app building. These sessions enabled attendees to use the software firsthand and put the information presented in the lecture material into practice. In all, more than 30 minicourses and hands-on sessions were offered at the event.

User presentations and new focus sessions showcased the role of COMSOL Multiphysics in prompting innovative and influential research across a variety of industries. Presenters shared a variety of research, including work on developing high-brightness LED technologies, analyzing the swimming patterns of fish, and an app designed to evaluate the thermal behavior of electronic devices. Additionally, we heard from four keynote speakers, whose industry talks we will discuss further in an upcoming blog post.

During the poster sessions, attendees were able to share more details about their projects with others at the event, fostering networking opportunities and the chance to learn how COMSOL Multiphysics is being applied in different research efforts. At the awards dinner, we honored the authors who won best papers and posters awards, including a popular choice vote. Stay tuned for an additional blog post about these award winners as well.
