Transmission Loss in a Porous Medium actuated by a PZT

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I am doing an experiment to study the transmission loss of sound in a cantilever beam actuated by a PZT patch. I want to conduct a numerical study of the system by solving for the transmission loss of the incident wave generated by the PZT, as it propagates through the porous medium. Can anyone recommend how to proceed?

I came across 2 sample models:
1. Acoustic-Structure Interaction model
2. Piezoelectric transducer model

Is there anyway I can integrate both these models to study the transmission loss?

Thanks!
Dennis
