inverted mesh

I'm trying to simulate a thermal stress problem which involves heating the block to high temperatures.As a result i,m having huge deformations and i'm experiencing convergence issue as result of inverted elements.I read a lot of post on inverted mesh in the forum.But i'm still exactly not clear on how to avoid it...
i tried to modify the mesh but still get the problem..PLS help!
