Advancing Rail Technology Innovation with COMSOL Multiphysics® - Archived
Join us for this live webinar to hear from Mr. Ishant Jain, head of New Product Development at Raychem RPG.
Raychem RPG's work has revolutionized the rail industry through cutting-edge developments, particularly in collaboration with the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) as part of the Make in India initiative. Over the past six years, Raychem in collaboration with RDSO have completed numerous projects, steering India toward self-sufficiency in rail technology. One of their major accomplishments has been the localization of advanced overhead equipment (OHE) systems, including the modular cantilever system, autotensioning device, short neutral section, and more. These technologies, traditionally procured from abroad, have now been developed and patented in India, aligning with the Indian Railways' mandate.
A critical area of Raychem RPG's focus has been the enhancement of railway composite insulators, a component plagued by frequent failures due to poor supplier quality. Raychem RPG, with its extensive experience in insulator manufacturing, has resolved this challenge. They have successfully supplied high-quality insulators in Europe and Asia for high-speed rail networks. Their breakthroughs were made possible through rigorous analysis and characterization using the COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software.
In their projects, the COMSOL® software played a central role, allowing the team to optimize every component of their sophisticated designs. Through the integrated use of the add-on Structural Mechanics Module and AC/DC Module, they ensured the reliability and efficiency of their innovations. As a result, the majority of Raychem's products have been approved by the Indian Railways, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
During the webinar, Mr. Ishant Jain will delve deeper into Raychem RPG's innovative processes, the role of COMSOL Multiphysics in their projects, and how these advancements are shaping the future of rail technology in India.
