Computational modeling is often used for design optimization, providing answers to design questions such as "How should material be distributed within a given space to maximize heat transfer?" Design optimization can be carried out as a process of iterative refinement by an engineer or designer, based on their interpretation of the modeling results, or it can be automated so that an optimization solver determines the optimal design based on objectives given by the user.

In this webinar, we will present the different optimization solvers available in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and how they can be used for parameter optimization, shape optimization, and topology optimization. There will also be a demo of how to set up and run a given design optimization problem in COMSOL Multiphysics®.
