Modeling and Simulation of Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers - Archived
In recent years, we have seen a renewed interest in hydrogen fuel cell and water electrolyzer technology, with an important economical driver being the continuously lowered costs for intermittent renewal electricity generation via wind and solar technology. Modeling and simulation play a crucial role in the design and development of these electrochemical systems.
The COMSOL Multiphysics® software provides a modeling and simulation platform that enables users to better understand and predict the real-world performance of fuel cells and electrolyzers.
In this webinar, we will present the modeling capabilities of COMSOL® and the Fuel Cell & Electrolyzer Module. With this, we will discuss the following topics:
- Gas-diffusion electrodes
- Electrode reactions
- Built-in thermodynamics
- Mass and momentum transfer in porous media
- Simulations of steady-state polarization plots
