COMSOL Multiphysics provides users with the ability to create and export comprehensive reports of their models using the COMSOL Report Generator. To generate a report, users can navigate to the Results Ribbon and click the Report button, or alternatively, right-click the Reports node in the Model Builder window. The software offers several report templates, including brief, intermediate, and complete reports, each varying in the level of detail provided. Users also have the option to create fully customized reports tailored to their specific needs. Once a report type is selected, users can preview the report in the Settings window by choosing either Preview Selected or Preview All, which displays the report alongside the graphics window. The report's label can be modified, and users can select from various format options. Additionally, the software allows for global control over the size and type of images included in the report, with an option to disable image generation if desired. Any changes made in the Settings can be reviewed quickly and easily. After finalizing the settings, users can generate the report by clicking the Write button. The report can be exported in different formats, such as a Microsoft Word Doc X file, ensuring flexibility in how the report is utilized and shared. This functionality streamlines the process of documenting and presenting model results, enhancing the overall utility of COMSOL Multiphysics for users.

Results / Report Generation

Export reports of your model from the software. Duration: 1:50

In the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, you can use the Report Generator to create a comprehensive report of an entire model and this tutorial video demonstrates how.

Your report can include all of the settings that were made during the modeling process, such as model properties; physics settings; studies; and graphics of the geometry, mesh, and results.

Note that you can control how much information is included in a report by using the Brief Report, Intermediate Report, and Complete Report templates.

When exporting a report, you can choose between two file types: an HTML file, for display in a web browser, or a Microsoft® Word document (.docx file).
