Electromagnetics News in COMSOL Multiphysics® Version 6.1
COMSOL Multiphysics® version 6.1 introduces a number of new modeling and simulation capabilities for electromagnetics modeling. In this webinar we will discuss various updates that this release brought to the AC/DC, RF, Wave Optics, and Plasma Modules.
For users of the AC/DC Module, we will go over the new layout tools for motor windings and magnet arrays — these features extend the functionality for modeling electric motors. This version of the module also includes a new interface for magnetohydrodynamics that can be used to model flow in molten metals and other plasmas subjected to electromagnetic fields. Furthermore, we will discuss the add-in for electric circuit analysis that makes it possible to reduce full finite element models to simple electric circuit representations.
We will also highlight the new features in the RF Module, including the feature that makes it possible to study electric discharge and lightning strikes. Moreover, we will cover the important workflow enhancement in the module: a waveguide port mode preview functionality. In addition, we showcase the new feature in the Wave Optics Module that enables the modeling of antireflective coatings and general thin optical layers. For users of the Plasma Module, we will discuss the new multiphysics interface for modeling plasmas that are simultaneously inductively and capacitively coupled.
