In this webinar, we will briefly discuss some of the most used techniques for NDT, such as acoustic emissions, ultrasonic waves, and electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATs). Then we will perform a live demonstration of the use of elastic waves for damage detection with a time-explicit discontinuous Galerkin finite element method.

Applications Engineer

Gabriel Hattori da Silva is an applications engineer at COMSOL. He obtained his BSc and MSc from the University of Campinas and PhD on numerical methods for damage identification from the University of Seville. He also worked at Durham University and the University of Cambridge on numerical models for fracture mechanics.
