LiveLink™ for Revit® Updates
For users of LiveLink™ for Revit®, COMSOL Multiphysics® software version 5.3a brings a new tutorial model and extends support to new versions of certain CAD file formats. Read more about the LiveLink™ for Revit® updates below.
New Tutorial Model: Living Room Acoustics
The new Living Room Acoustics tutorial analyzes the low-frequency response of a living room to the woofer units of two loudspeakers and solves for the eigenfrequencies of the room. The room geometry and furniture are synchronized from a Revit® project through the LiveLink™ interface. The step-by-step instructions include the synchronization and defeaturing of the room geometry to prepare it for the simulation.
A simulation is performed on the living room geometry synchronized from the Revit® project. The streamline plot visualizes the energy flow from the sound sources at 100 Hz.

The CAD file import and export functionality has been extended to support new versions for the following file formats:

- ACIS®: (.sat, .sab, .asat, .asab) up to R25, 2018 1.0
- AutoCAD® (.dwg, .dxf) up to 2017
- CATIA® V5 up to 2017
- PTC Creo Parametric™ up to 4.0
